The highly awaited Pakistan's Own Cricket League Named as Pakistan Super League (PSL) is almost prepared to take off in February 2016 and this time its coordinators say they are leaving nothing to risk.
A Twenty20 Tournament, a Pakistani Version of IPL & CPL, has been underway since 2013 however the Pakistan Cricket Board has needed to put off it twice - in 2014 & 2015 - over what it said was an absence of reaction from Sponsors & supporters.
But Now the Head of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mr. Najam Sethi is confident about the Preparation and Arrangements of PSL. At A press Conference Mr. Sethi said that the Business Companies, Big Brands, Local and International investors are in contact with the Board for Sponsorships while the International Players including Big Names are Lining up for the League.

PSL Teams:
In the First Edition of Pakistan Superleague, 5 Teams from Across the Country will Participate in the Tournament. The Following are the names of teams who Qualified for the First Edition of Pakistan Super League.
- Team Quetta
- Team Lahore
- Team Karachi
- Team Peshawar
- Team Islamabad
Many Teams from Pakistan's Big cities Like Multan, Larkana, Hyderabad, Dera Murad Jamali & AJK failed to Qualify for the First Edition of the Tournament, While the PCB is Confident that all the Teams will be Placed in the Second Edition of PSL, as PCB is Planning to Increase the Number of teams in the Second Edition.
PSL Players:
Every Team will Consist of 16 Players (Excluding coaching team), Every Team will have 4 Foreign and Minimum of 12 Local Players. Almost 90 Foreign Players have Contact PCB for their Presence and Availability in the Tournament, which Includes some Big names like Chris Gayle, Dilshan, Peterson, Malinga, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib UL Hassan, and many other from Top Ranking Test and Non-Test Cricketing Nations such as Australia, South Africa, England, Zimbabwe, Srilanka, Bangladesh, West indies, Canada, UAE, Ireland & Afghanistan.
PSL Players Catagories and Salary:
The Players have Been divided into 5 categories based on their international Ranking, Popularity, Experience and Skills. The Players from the Top Category will be Paid more than the Low Catagory Players. Have a look to all Categories Below.
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Gold
- Silver
- Emerging
- Top 10 Players from Foreign Countries will be paid $140000 (Rs.14560000) Each .
- Other 10 Players from Foreign Country will be Paid $70000 (Rs.7280000) Each. Keep in Mind that Only 20 International Players will be Placed in the First Edition of PSL.
- All Pakistani national/Domestic Players will be Paid $50000 (Rs.5200000) Each.
PSL Ambassadors:
PCB has Appointed Ramiz Raja & Wasim Akram the Grand Ambassadors of Pakistan Super League.
PSL Venue:
Although Pakistan Cricket Board has Officially Announced that Doha, Qatar will Host the First Edition of Pakistan Super League, but now the Story has taken a new twist as the ECB (UAE cricket Board) has offered PCB to host the League in UAE which was the First and Favorite option for PCB. Earlier all the Grounds in UAE were Booked for Master Cricket League (A cricket tournament for the Retired Cricketers) But Now they (MCL Organizers) have Reportedly Changed their Schedule for MCL, so PCB may Changed the Venue for the Tournament. Doha or Dubai may be the Possible venue for Pakistan Super League.
PSL Prize Money:
The Pakistan Cricket Board has set a total amount of $100000 (Rs.104000000) as the Prize Money for the Winner Team of PSL first edition.
